Lyzín je esenciálna aminokyselina, ktorá sa vo výživových doplnkoch bežne spája s vitamínom C. Skúma sa jeho využitie pri potláčaní symptómov herpesu, pretože jeho prítomnosť zabraňuje vírusu H. simplex vo využití arginínu, ktorý potrebuje na replikáciu.
Užívanie
Pre potlačenie symptómov herpesu sa odporúča užiť 2 g denne. Dávka sa užíva
rozdelená na menšie dávky spolu s jedlom. Užívanie arginínu je v tomto období kontraproduktívne. Ak je strava upravená tak, aby sa zvýšil príjem lyzínu, tak je potrebné kontrolovať príjem arginínu.
