Agmatín je metabolit L-Arginínu. Vykazuje sľubné výsledky pri zmierňovaní neuropatických bolestí a drogovej závislosti. Tiež vykazuje istý potenciál pri ochrane pred mŕtvicou a je prospešný pre kognitívne funkcie.
Užívanie
Pre užívanie agmatínu nemáme určenú štandardnú dávku, pretože zatiaľ chýba dostatok údajov o jeho pôsobení na ľudí. Vedecká štúdia, ktorá bola robená na ľuďoch liečených na neuropatické bolesti používala dávku 1300-2670 mg denne. Odhadovaná dávka pre zlepšenie kognitívnych funkcií u ľudí je 1,6-6,4 mg/kg podávaná orálne. Táto dávka je odhadnutá na základe pokusov na potkanoch. Dávka by nemala presiahnuť 6,4 mg/kg telesnej hmotnosti. Agmatín sa dobre nevstrebáva ak sa užíva spolu s proteínmi, pretože využíva rovnaký prenášač. Na potvrdenie jeho účinkov u ľudí sú potrebné ďalšie výskumy.
